Kehinde Joan Abayomi

Graduate Research Assistant (updike Lab) at MDI Biological Laboratory

Kehinde Joan Abayomi is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at MDI Biological Laboratory, focusing on transgenerational epigenetic inheritance in C. elegans. Previous experience includes roles at The Jackson Laboratory, where research concentrated on FGF23 bioactivity shutdown mechanisms, and MDI Biological Laboratory, where the role of eIF3g in germ granules was investigated. Additional positions held include Graduate Research Assistant at MaineHealth studying tumor microenvironment roles, and Medical Laboratory Scientist at Bola Tinubu Health and Diagnostics Center. A strong foundation in molecular diagnostics was established as a Molecular Scientist and Biomedical Scientist at various institutions. Kehinde holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Maine and a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, along with a diploma in Public Health. Techniques mastered include qPCR, RNA extraction, cell culture, and multiple electrophoresis methods.
