Sofija Volertas

Sofija Volertas, MD, serves as the Health Innovation Scholarly Concentration Program Faculty Lead at UNC School of Medicine, where a new four-year curriculum on Health Innovation has been developed to prepare medical students in utilizing advanced technologies. Volertas plays a pivotal role in several committees, including the Leadership Council for the Academy of Educators and the Telehealth and Technology Task Force for the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine, the focus lies on IgE-mediated diseases and the transition of care from pediatric to adult models. Additional roles include Medical Consultant for Riverine Ventures and advisory positions with Alerje and MDisrupt, highlighting an active engagement in medical education, innovation, and healthcare technology.
