Meadowlands YMCA
Lucy Acemyan Bates is a seasoned nutrition specialist currently serving at Bergen County Division of Senior Services since October 2021. With a strong background in fitness, Lucy has been a personal trainer at Meadowlands YMCA since May 2017 and previously worked at 24 Hour Fitness from September 2011 to May 2020. In addition, Lucy is a Bodypump certified instructor with Les Mills International since April 2012 and has experience as a senior fitness instructor at Meadowlands Area YMCA from January 2014 to August 2014. Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Montclair State University and has been recognized as a certified personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine since 2009.
Meadowlands YMCA
Established in 1920, the Meadowlands Area YMCA is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in a service area of 127,000 households serving more than 350,000 guests per year. In 2019 alone, the Y provided more than $650,000 in financial assistance to over 3,500 local families in Bergen County. The central facility and its 30+ site locations host programs that are committed to nurturing the potential of children, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. By offering a wide variety of wellness and enrichment programs designed to benefit infants to seniors, the Y is helping the community to build a better mind, body and spirit for people of all ages and circumstances. On May 19, 2017, the new 83,200 sq. ft. Meadowlands YMCA opened at 390 Murray Hill Parkway, East Rutherford, NJ. The facility is the former training center of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets and is this Association’s first centrally located building.
