Gavin MacKenzie

Gavin Mackenzie has a diverse work history spanning various leadership and advisory roles. Gavin began their career as a Senior Accountant at Ernst & Young in 1988 and later transitioned to a Senior Manager role at Stewart & Watson in 1992. In 1996, they joined Taylor Clark Leisure plc as a Financial Director, a position they held until 2001. In that same year, they became the Chief Operating Officer at CALEDONIAN CINEMAS LIMITED, where they remained until 2012. Gavin then served as the Chief Executive Officer at Cairnstar Group from 2010 to 2019, and as the COO from 2001 to 2010. In 2008, they took on the role of Pension Trustee at Taylor Clark RDBS, and also became a member of ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs, serving as a Council Member and Technical Policy Board Member from 2008 to 2014. Additionally, they were a Board Member and Non-Executive Director at UK Digital Funding Partnership LLP from 2010 to 2017. Currently, Mackenzie holds the position of Group Finance Director at MEALLMORE LIMITED, starting in 2012. In 2022, they became a Board Member of Home Scotland (NED) and an Audit Committee Member at Home Group.

Gavin Mackenzie completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accountancy and Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University from 1985 to 1988. Gavin then went on to pursue a degree in Accountancy at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, where they obtained their CA qualification from 1988 to 1991.
