Wei Yau has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of performance engineering and site reliability engineering. They started their career in 2007 as an IT Consultant and Implementation Manager at Streamline Solutions Pty Ltd and later moved on to positions such as Senior Performance Consultant and Security Penetration Tester at JDS Australia. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Performance Engineer at both JKVine and National Australia Bank. In 2017, they joined MLC Australia, where they held roles as a Performance Engineer, Performance Test Manager, and Site Reliability Engineer. In 2019, they worked as a Performance Lead and Project Manager at Westpac, before becoming the Head of SRE Global at me&u in 2020.
Wei Yau attended Swinburne University of Technology from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a B.Engineering/B.Multimedia degree. Wei'sfield of study was in Network, Computing, Internet Technologies & the World Wide Web. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including Akamai Web Performance Foundations from Akamai Technologies in August 2017, HP Accredited Solution Expert (LoadRunner v11) from Hewlett-Packard in March 2013, HP Accredited Integration Specialist (LoadRunner v11) from Hewlett-Packard in February 2013, and ISTQB Certified Tester, Foundation Level (CTFL) from ANZTB in February 2012.
