Michael Ashley has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michael started their career in 1982 as a Driver/Mechanic at S&R Trucking and worked there until 1992. Following that, they founded their own business, Ashley Transportation, where they served as an Owner Operator until 2002. In 2003, they joined the Ventura County Fire Department as a Fire Mechanic 2 and later moved up to the position of Senior Fire Equipment Mechanic FEMIII. In 2020, they took on the role of Assistant Fleet Manager at the same department. Concurrently, Michael also served as the Scoutmaster of Troop 128 at Boy Scout Troop 128 from 2006 to 2019. Currently, they work as a Commercial Transportation Operations Specialist at Mecanica Scientific Services Corporation, a position they have held since 2017.

Michael Ashley attended Calvary Bible College from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Certificate of Ministry with a focus on Theology. Prior to that, in 1981 to 1982, they studied at the Universal Technical Institute and obtained a certification as a Diesel Mechanic, specializing in Diesel Mechanics Technology/Technician.
