Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA)
The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) exceeds its members’ expectations by preparing them to meet the realities of the changing business and industry climate through an increasing array of educational, relationship building and advocacy services. These services help contractors cope with short-term adversity and take advantage of long-term opportunities. MCAA’s 2,600 member companies are leaders in all areas of mechanical contracting, including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and piping. Member companies may choose to join MCAA only, or may choose to enhance their memberships by participating in one or more of its subsidiaries—the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), the Plumbing Contractors of America (PCA), the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau (NCPWB), and the Manufacturer/Supplier Council (M/SC). MCAA also includes the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation (MCERF), a separate organization that provides a solid foundation for the growth and success of the mechanical contracting industry by articulating and funding the industry’s most critical human resource and research needs. MCAA is governed by an Executive Committee and a Board of Directors, and each subsidiary has its own governing structure. Committees and task forces carry out work in specialized areas, such as technology, education, safety, labor relations, and estimating. Relationships with almost 100 local affiliates—independent organizations that have chosen to affiliate with MCAA—ensure that MCAA’s membership and educational offerings continue to grow and prosper. While many of these affiliates’ programs are conducted independently, these groups take advantage of educational opportunities offered by a number of seminars that travel to their locations.
