Naveed Alam

Naveed Alam has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning different companies and roles. Naveed is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Mechinix since 2023. Prior to this, they held the same position at WaterSprint Ltd starting in 2019 and at Infarmer starting in 2020. Naveed also worked as a Freelance Consultant and Visiting Professor at UNDP since 2014. At GIZ, they served as the Country Coordinator for the International Water Stewardship Programme (IWaSP) from 2017 to 2019. Before that, they worked as a Researcher at TU Delft from 2007 to 2014, where they focused on promoting the sustainable use of natural and water resources in developing countries. Naveed also gained experience as an Assistant Executive Engineer at Punjab Irrigation Department from 2004 to 2007 and as a Consulting Engineer at National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (NESPAK) from 1999 to 2004.

Naveed Alam completed their education in a chronological manner. Naveed first attended the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore from 1993 to 1998, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydrology at the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila from 2000 to 2003. Finally, Naveed enrolled at Delft University of Technology from 2007 to 2014, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Hydrology and Water Resources Science.
