Alex Burnett

Alex Burnett is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in public information and media relations. Currently serving as the Public Information Officer for Mecklenburg County since December 2019, Alex has previously held significant roles including News Writer, Editor, and Associate Producer at Fox News Media from January 2008 to July 2017. Additional experience includes serving as Communications and Marketing Director at City University of New York and Communications Manager at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. Alex's career began at WBTV as a News Producer from 1997 to 2000, followed by a Senior Public Information Officer and Media Relations Director position at Mecklenburg County from 2000 to 2008. Alex holds a Master of Science in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
