Matt Whirley

Matt Whirley is an experienced facility and recreation manager with a demonstrated history of leadership in managing large-scale athletic and recreational facilities. Currently serving as Senior Facility Manager for Mecklenburg County since February 2020, Matt oversees a premier 175-acre athletic site, collaborating on maintenance operations and projects. Previously, as Recreation Services Manager at Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation, Matt directed a significant recreation program for a city of 95,000 residents. Additionally, roles at Greenville County Recreation District involved managing operations at multiple waterparks and recreation complexes, achieving notable annual revenues. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Clemson University.
