Margaret Mutumba, MPH, PhDc

Dr. Margaret Mutumba has a diverse work experience ranging from healthcare management to academic roles. Currently, they serve as the Program Director of Frugal BioMedical Innovations at Western University, where they focus on advancing equity-driven global innovators through education and the development of medical solutions for low-resource contexts.

Dr. Mutumba also works as a Technical Consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), providing expertise and guidance on healthcare matters.

Dr. Margaret is the Co-Founder and CEO of MedAtlas, a healthcare startup they established in 2020.

Additionally, Dr. Mutumba serves as a Board Member for the Canadian Association for Global Health and the YMCA of Three Rivers.

Dr. Margaret Mutumba began their education by completing their O-levels at Gayaza High School from 2000 to 2004. Dr. Margaret then pursued a BSc in Pharmacology at King's College London from 2006 to 2009. Following this, they obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Imperial College London in 2010. Dr. Mutumba furthered their education by attending the University of Waterloo, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health Sciences from 2018 to 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Mutumba has attended various professional development courses and obtained additional certifications. These include completing the "Change Management Foundations" course offered by LinkedIn in February 2023, participating in the "Canadian Conference on Global Health" hosted by the Canadian Association for Global Health in November 2021, and attending "The Festival of Telehealth & Digital Health" organized by vcita in July 2021. Dr. Margaret also became a member of "Ten Thousand Coffees" in January 2021 and has participated in multiple conferences and workshops related to digital health, reproductive health, and research ethics.
