Kerstin Hanson

International Nutrition Working Group Leader at Médecins Sans Frontières

Kerstin Hanson, MD, MPH, currently serves as the International Nutrition Working Group Leader for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) since October 2022. Previously, Kerstin held positions as a Public Health Advisor for the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance from October 2020 to October 2021 and as an Evidence Officer in the Nutrition Division at the World Food Programme from December 2019 to October 2020. Prior experience includes serving as a Pediatrics and Nutrition Advisor and Field Pediatrician for MSF from August 2011 to March 2019, as well as completing an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Beaumont Health System from July 2007 to June 2011. Kerstin holds a Master of Public Health with a focus on Global Health and Humanitarian Studies from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (2017-2018), a Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine (2003-2007), and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and African Studies from the University of Michigan (1995-2001).
