Robert Amyot has extensive work experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Robert currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer at MEDFAR Clinical Solutions since November 2019. Robert is also the Chairman Of The Board at Matrius Technologies since 2020. Additionally, they hold positions as a Member of the Board of Directors at Optina Diagnostics, Carré Technologies Inc., and Royal College International.
Previously, Robert held various roles at CAE Healthcare from 2010 to 2019, including Chief Strategic Advisor, President, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Programs, and Director of Ultrasound Simulation Products. At CAE Healthcare, they were responsible for establishing the company's mission and strategy, managing the P&L, presenting to investors, defining technology roadmaps, and forging partnerships. Robert also managed the ultrasound simulation portfolio and supported marketing and sales efforts.
Before joining CAE Healthcare, Robert worked as a Cardiologist Echocardiographer at Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal from 1998 to 2013. During this time, they practiced clinical cardiology and echocardiography, supervised interns and fellows, and participated in research projects.
Robert also holds academic positions, including Associate Professor of Medicine at Université de Montréal from 2007 to 2013. Robert authored numerous scientific articles, abstracts, book chapters, and co-edited a book on heart and diabetes. Robert has been invited to speak at various workshops and scientific conferences.
In 2007, Robert co-founded VIMEDIX Virtual Medical Imaging Training Systems and served as the CEO until 2010. The company developed the first transthoracic echocardiography simulator using virtual reality technologies.
Robert Amyot received their medical education at the Université de Montréal from 1987 to 1998. During this time, they focused on internal medicine and cardiology as areas of study. Following their undergraduate education, Amyot pursued a fellowship at the Istituto di Fisiologia Clinica del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Pisa, Italy, from 1999 to 2000. During this fellowship, their research centered around contrast echocardiography and endothelial function assessment.
