Medical Advisory Board-Cancer at MedFit Network

Andrea Leonard has extensive experience in the field of cancer exercise training. Andrea founded the Cancer Exercise Training Institute in 2004, where they served as President/Founder. In this role, they provided health and fitness professionals with comprehensive coursework on various types of cancer and their treatments, as well as marketing strategies for positioning themselves in the healthcare continuum. The institute also offered products and educational materials for healthcare professionals and cancer patients.

In addition to their work at the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, Andrea Leonard has held advisory board roles at the Medical Wellness Association and the Medical Fitness Network. At the latter, they served as the Chairperson of the Medical Fitness Network Advisory Board. Andrea was also recognized as the PFP/Club Industry 2019 Personal Trainer of the Year.

Apart from their professional endeavors, Andrea Leonard has also volunteered at Immerman Angels, and in the past, they served as the President/Founder of The Breast Cancer Survivor's Foundation. Andrea has had a longstanding commitment to supporting and empowering cancer survivors through fitness and exercise.

Andrea Leonard has a diverse education history in the field of health and fitness. In 1992, they obtained a certification as a Certified Personal Trainer from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness). Andrea also received additional certifications as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist from NASM in 1992. In 1996, Andrea attended the Cancer Exercise Training Institute and became a Cancer Exercise Specialist. Andrea furthered their expertise in cancer recovery by obtaining the distinction of Breast Cancer Recovery BOSU(R) Specialist from the same institute in 2013.

In terms of formal education, Andrea Leonard completed their Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness, General from the University of Maryland from 1984 to 1990. Andrea then pursued a Master of Science degree in Functional Nutrition from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, starting in 2021 and expected to finish in 2023.

Andrea's educational journey highlights their commitment to acquiring knowledge and expertise in various areas of health and fitness, particularly in the specialized fields of performance enhancement, corrective exercise, cancer exercise, and functional nutrition.
