Dr. Meenal Agarwal (MD, DM)

Dr. Meenal Agarwal has a diverse work experience in the field of medical genetics. Dr. Meenal is currently serving as the Director - Clinical Genetics at MEDGENOME since June 2022. Prior to this, they founded and worked as a Consultant in the Happy Genes Genetic Clinic, focusing on reproductive genetic issues and providing genetic counseling. Dr. Meenal also worked as an Associate Consultant in Medical Genetics at KEM Hospital Pune from October 2021.

In May 2019, Dr. Agarwal joined Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital as a Consultant in Medical Genetics. Dr. Meenal also served as an Adjunct Professor at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College - India, starting from June 2019.

Previously, Dr. Agarwal held significant roles at GenePath Diagnostics, starting as the Chief Clinical Officer and Consultant in Medical Genetics from October 2015 to April 2022. Later, they became the Head of Clinical Genetics and Laboratory Medical Director, where they took care of the clinical genetics portfolio, developed an informed consent process for complex genomic assays, and mentored genetic counsellors.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Agarwal worked as an Assistant Professor at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences from May 2013 to August 2015. Before that, they served as a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Medical Genetics at the same institute from October 2011 to May 2013.

Dr. Meenal Agarwal (MD, DM) completed their primary medical education at King George's Medical University, where they received a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from 1995 to 2000. Dr. Meenal then pursued further specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology, earning a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the same institution from 2002 to 2005. Dr. Agarwal further advanced their medical expertise in Medical Genetics at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, where they obtained a DM degree from 2008 to 2011.
