Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim (MSU) has been established with the passage of The Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim Act 2021 in the Sikkim State Legislative Assembly on 29th June 2021. MSU shall strive to bring convergence of the skilling ecosystem with higher education. MSU is a pioneering university model where employers/ corporates/ industries shall be the stakeholders and influencers in course curriculum design, programme delivery, practical skills training, as well as, for providing on-the-job apprenticeship and internships. MSU’s vision is to emerge as a pioneer institution of skills-based education recognized by employers, nationally and internationally. It shall provide opportunities for flexible learning, competency-based modular courses and credit accumulation/ transfer across educational streams for continuous learning. MSU is sponsored by the Medhavi Foundation, which was founded in 2012 by a group of IIT Alumni. Medhavi Foundation is a skill development and education focussed organisation and a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) partner impacting 1,00,000+ youths annually.
