Shubha Balabaer

Shubha Balabaer is an experienced professional in operations, technology, and program management with a strong focus on racial justice and criminal justice reform. Currently serving as the Director of Operations at the Center for Media Justice since March 2021, Shubha oversees Operations, HR, Finance, and Development during a period of organizational transition. Prior roles include leading technological initiatives at the Center for Court Innovation, where responsibilities ranged from research and product management to ethical technology utilization in the justice system. Shubha's experience also includes co-directing community-focused artistic projects, strategic program direction at DataKind, metrics analysis at the Media Development Loan Fund, and production roles in public radio. Educational credentials include a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
