Philip Mertes

Philip Mertes is the Group Head of M&A at MEDIAN Unternehmensgruppe B.V. & Co. KG, a leading European provider in medical rehabilitation and mental health since May 2024. Mertes also serves as a University Lecturer for Digital Product Management at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland, where Mertes initiated and directs an accredited executive education program in that field. Previous roles include Senior Manager M&A at amedes-Gruppe, Advisory Board Member and Interim CEO at EVOCAL Health, Corporate Venture Manager at Freshbird Ventures, and a Lawyer specializing in M&A and Real Estate Transactions at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Mertes began career as a Product Manager for tech startups and was a professional cyclist competing in Germany's top league and international competitions. Mertes holds degrees from The University of Göttingen and the University of Cambridge, along with a distinguished State Examination in Law.
