Vice President, Engineering at Mediaocean

Malayaj Hartalkar has extensive work experience in the engineering and quality assurance fields. Malayaj started their career as a Direct Marketing Specialist at Sanghi Automobiles in 1997. Malayaj then transitioned into the software industry, working as a Software Trainee at e.Soft Technologies Pvt Ltd in 2000. Malayaj then worked as a QA Consultant at i2 Technologies, where they focused on manual system testing and test automation. Malayaj joined Kalpataru Computers as a QA Lead in 2002, before moving on to SunGard as a Release Member, where they introduced the concept of test automation and performed performance testing.

In 2003, Malayaj returned to SunGard as a QA Lead, responsible for creating functional test cases and conducting installation and build creation. Malayaj later joined Symphony Services as a Sr. Engineer, handling test plan execution and load balancing for Siebel Personalization. Malayaj was then promoted to Lead QA Engineer, where they worked on test planning, automation, and regression management.

Malayaj joined SunGard (now part of FIS) in 2007 as a QA Lead, and later became a Test Manager, responsible for test strategy, test planning, test automation, and project management. Malayaj was also a Test Evangelist, working closely with project office, client services, and development teams to define and implement project management practices.

In 2014, Malayaj joined Mediaocean as an Engineering Manager, responsible for institutionalizing test automation and delivering various tests to cut testing efforts. Malayaj was later promoted to Director of Engineering, Vice President of Engineering, and finally, Senior Director of Engineering at Mediaocean. In these positions, they focused on maximizing test automation, leading cross-functional teams, and aligning technology processes with business goals.

Throughout their career, Malayaj has demonstrated a strong expertise in test automation, project management, and implementing best practices to ensure quality product delivery.

Malayaj Hartalkar is currently pursuing a Professional Certificate Program for Product Management at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode in the year 2023. Malayaj completed their MCA degree in Computers from North Maharashtra University, where they studied from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a B.Sc. in Electronics from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, studying from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, Malayaj has a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster, which they obtained from Scrum Alliance in December 2011.
