Judge Theodore (Ted) Haynes (Ret.) began their career in 1960 as a Civilian Supply Officer at Tinker Air Force Base. In 1963, they moved to the Social Security Administration as a Field Representative/Claims Representative. Seven years later, they became a Law Partner at Haynes and Singerman. In 1981, they became a Referee (Hearing Magistrate) at the Oklahoma State Supreme Court, where they drafted decisions for the nine justices, heard petitions for extraordinary writs and researched issues of first impression. In 1982, they moved to the Social Security Administration as a Federal Administrative Law Judge, with jurisdiction in all fifty States, Puerto Rico and Guam. Judge Theodore (Ted) was also the National Chief Judge, Regional Chief Judge and Hearing Office Chief Judge. In 2007, they joined various organizations as a Certified Arbitrator and Mediator, where they were a member of the Panels of Distinguished Neutrals of the International Mediation Institute, certified to mediate disputes between parties internationally, and a Member of the Roster of Arbitrators for the Councl of Better Business, Inc. In 2016, they became a Supreme Court Certified Mediator and Arbitrator for the Federal Insurance Pilot Program. Finally, in 2017, they became President of Mediators without Borders, where they oversaw quality control and oversight of the professional mediators and arbitrators who deliver Mediators Without Borders services to organizations. Judge Haynes (Ret.) is now self-employed as a Retired Judge, Arbitrator/Mediator.
Judge Theodore (Ted) Haynes (Ret.) received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Juris Doctor in History Law from Langston University OCU Law between 1952 and 1956. Judge Theodore (Ted) then went on to receive their Juris Doctor in Law from Oklahoma City University School of Law between 1966 and 1970.
