Alexandra Sia

Alexandra Sia has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Alexandra began their professional career as a Lead Music Instructor at the Community Music Centers of Atlanta, where they led group activities for children in an after-school music program from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, they took on multiple roles simultaneously, including working as a Cello Instructor at the Saint James Academy of Music, teaching cello and coaching orchestra sectionals for inner-city children. Alexandra also worked as an Audio/Video Production and Lighting Installation specialist at the Wanapum Heritage Center, where they installed lighting and edited videos using Adobe Premiere. Additionally, during this time, they served as a String Assistant with the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra, providing support to conductors and office staff during rehearsals and performances. From 2014 to 2018, they worked with the Debut Orchestra and Junior Orchestra divisions. In 2017, Alexandra joined MediaValet as a Software QA Analyst and later transitioned to the role of Junior Software Developer. Since February 2022, they have been working as a Software Developer at MediaValet. Outside of their professional work, Alexandra pursued their passion for music as a self-employed musician, serving as a Cellist and Cello Instructor since 2002.

Alexandra Sia's education history begins in 2000 when they attended The University of British Columbia and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music in 2005. Following this, they pursued further education at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University from 2007 to 2009, earning a Master's degree in Music. In 2016, they enrolled in Langara College where they completed a Post-Degree Diploma in Business Administration, specializing in Business Administration and Management, General from 2016 to 2017. In the same year, they attended Lighthouse Labs for a short period to study Web Development.
