Doug Swanson is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine and medical direction. Since December 2010, Doug has served as the Medical Director at Mecklenburg EMS Agency, and concurrently holds the same position at MedCenter Air since June 2002. Additionally, Doug has been an Emergency Medicine Physician at Atrium Health since July 1992. Educationally, Doug earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of South Florida between 1988 and 1992, following a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from the University of Central Florida from 1982 to 1986.

Medic’s clinical care and patient outcomes are among the best, nationwide. The Agency is CAAS Accredited and houses it's own 911 Communications Center.
