Matt Schafer

Matt Schafer is a seasoned professional in government relations with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Director Of Government Relations at Medica since July 2018, Matt previously held significant roles at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, where responsibilities included managing government relations across multiple states. Prior to that, Matt contributed to Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. as Vice President of Government Relations for the Midwest Division and as Minnesota Government Relations Director. Earlier in Matt's career, experience included organizing grassroots efforts at the Fleet Reserve Association and various roles within the United States Marine Corps, focused on legislative programs and public relations. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Strayer University and an Associate of Arts in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from Northern Virginia Community College. Additional education includes training at the Defense Information School.
