Tina Leal is the current Vice President of Physician and Community Relations at Medical Center Hospital. Tina has held this position for 8 years and is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the medical staff services functions, including staffing, budgets, database administration (ECHO), credentialing and privileging processes, oversees the clinical documentation specialist and physician advocates/ educators. The Director serves as a key representative and liaison between Administrative Leadership, the Medical Staff Officers, and Medical Staff members including Allied Health Professionals on provider privileging, credentialing, and medical staff governance and policy issues.
Before their current position, Tina was the Director of Medical Staff Services at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin for 3 years and 1 month. In that role, they were responsible for aspects of accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Tina also consulted faculty and program directors on aspects of education and disciplinary actions. Additionally, they developed and implemented new policies related to Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education.
Previously, Tina was the Director of Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Officer at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In that role, they were responsible for various parts of the resident physicians insurance benefits, EPAFS, one-time payments and payroll management and training. Tina also coordinated and organized the resident and fellowship orientation and exit interviews.
Tina Leal has a master's degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Educational Counseling, which they obtained between 2003 and 2007.
