Heather Boulware Barcus, PharmD

Heather Boulware Barcus, PharmD has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry spanning over 15 years. Their most recent position was at Medical Center Specialty Pharmacy, where they served as Director of Operations. In this role, they managed an independent PCAB accredited, full-scale compounding pharmacy with over 20 employees. Heather actively participated in marketing efforts, both locally and nationally, to maximize employee retention and support the growth of the pharmacy.

Before their role as Director of Operations, Heather worked as a Pharmacist at the same pharmacy, specializing in ear, nose and throat, dermatology, men's and women's health, veterinary medications, and pain management. Heather was trained in both sterile and non-sterile compounding and had the responsibility of overseeing regulatory inspections and PCAB re-accreditation.

Prior to joining Medical Center Specialty Pharmacy, Heather gained valuable experience at Walgreens, where they worked as a Pharmacist from May 2012 to November 2015. Heather started their tenure at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Intern in September 2009 and was later promoted to a full-time Pharmacist position.

Heather's career also includes an internship at CVS Pharmacy, where they worked as a Pharmacy Intern from July 2007 to September 2009. Additionally, they held a role as a Student Membership Assistant at the South Carolina Alumni Association from May 2006 to May 2008.

Throughout their career, Heather Boulware Barcus has developed a strong skill set in pharmacy operations, compounding, regulatory compliance, and employee management. Heather continues to make significant contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.

Heather Boulware Barcus, PharmD, pursued their education in pharmacy with a focus on Pharmacy. From 2006 to 2008, they attended the University of South Carolina, where they obtained a PharmD degree. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2012, they resumed their studies at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, earning a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
