Marieke Kalkhove, PhD, currently serves as the EDI Lead and Assessment Content Developer at the Medical Council of Canada since June 2018, where significant contributions include leading EDI projects and developing examination objectives on anti-oppressive care. With over a decade of experience at Lionbridge as a Senior Translator and Language Specialist, Marieke managed translation teams and provided resources for translators. Previous roles include serving as a Brightspace LMS Trainer at Algonquin College, an English Professor, and University Instructor at various institutions, developing courses and facilitating training sessions. Marieke holds a PhD in English Language and Literature from Queen's University, a Master of Arts from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Winnipeg. Currently enrolled in a UBC Certificate Program in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Marieke continues to enhance expertise in EDI.
