David Carlson

Director of Standards and Interoperability at Medical Informatics Engineering

David Carlson has a diverse background in software development and technology leadership. David started their career as a Computer Programmer at STATS LLC, where they developed code to analyze sports statistics and collaborated with AOL to develop sports content. In 1998, they co-founded ArenaFan.com and served as the head developer and statistician for the website. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a Web Developer at GeneralSearch.com. In 2001, they joined Gramtel as a Web Programmer. From 2003 to 2015, they held multiple roles at Medical Informatics Engineering, including Director of Standards and Interoperability, where they were responsible for importing and maintaining coding systems and designing interoperable medical documents. During the same period, they also worked as the Technology Director at NoMoreClipboard.com, coordinating strategies for their PHR platform and custom portals. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in coding, development, and strategic coordination.

David Carlson obtained an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Northcentral Technical College from 1994 to 1996. In 2015, they also received certification as a Certified HL7® CDA Specialist from Health Level Seven International.
