Doug Horner

Co-Founder, CEO & Chief Technology Officer at Medical Informatics Engineering

Medical Informatics Engineering is a vision realized, conceived by Doug and described in his 1995 "Medical White Paper." He and co-founder Eric Jones developed the Med-Web, one of the first sustainable HIEs, and from that foundation, expanded the company's IP holdings to include a diverse portfolio of HIT solutions.

As CEO and Chief Technology Officer, Doug provides overall leadership across a broad range of activities including strategic planning, product development and systems integration. Doug's software expertise in systems, networks and management, combined with his experience in healthcare technology, enabled us to predict the impact of the internet, browsers and advanced applications on healthcare…and proactively respond.

Doug studied electrical engineering at Purdue University and has published several papers on medical technology, artificial intelligence and information systems. Prior to founding the company, Doug was a senior software engineer for NBS Imaging, and a chief software engineer for Medisys, Inc.
