Arlynn Thomas started their work experience in 2017 as a Research Experience for Undergraduates Intern at Wake Forest University, where they processed and analyzed medical image data, compiled documentation, and conducted literature searches. In 2018, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Virginia, where they devised and implemented an efficient method for computing diffusion gradients, integrated cellular behaviors in a cardiac wound healing model, and improved computation time of an existing model. Arlynn also worked as a Math Tutor from 2015 to 2018 at Western Carolina University, where they provided individual and group support for various math and science courses and trained other tutors. They also served as a Project Manager/Mechanical Engineer, designing tamper-proof housings and validating electro-mechanical systems. Additionally, Arlynn worked as a Supplemental Instructor for a summer course at Western Carolina University, where they attended lectures, held review sessions, and assisted students with course concepts. Currently, Arlynn is an R&D Engineer at Medical Murray since 2020.
Arlynn Thomas completed their high school education at Grace Academy from 2010 to 2014, earning a High School Diploma. Arlynn then pursued their undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at Western Carolina University from 2014 to 2018, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree. Later, from 2018 to 2020, they attended the University of Virginia and completed their Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
