Lauren Palestrini

Lauren Palestrini, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Currently, they are an Affiliate Member at Life Science Angels since March 2023. In the past, they held the role of Chief Science Officer at the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium, where they focused on commercializing biomedical technologies for wounded warriors. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Rutgers Research from May 2011 to September 2015. Lauren also worked as a Research Assistant, PhD Candidate, and Visiting scholar at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials at Stony Brook University from September 2006 to April 2011. Additionally, they have worked as a Process Development Engineer at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and as an Oral Care Summer Intern at Johnson & Johnson- Consumer and Personal Products Worldwide. Lauren gained human resources experience through summer internships at Deutsche Bank in 2001 and 2002.

Lauren Palestrini, PhD, earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 2004. Lauren then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University, completing it in 2011. Lauren is also a Level III Candidate in the CFA Institute. Additionally, they obtained another Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.

MTEC | Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium

MTEC is a 501(c)(3) biomedical technology consortium collaborating with multiple government agencies under a 10-year renewable Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC). MTEC fosters integrated research partnerships and speeds the availability of solutions to the military, veterans the civilian population.
