Shannon Lager

COO at Medicalodges

Shannon was appointed Vice President and Chief Operations Officer in 2016. Over the last 20 years Shannon has held various positions in long term care including charge nurse, director and assistant director of nursing, administrator, clinical consultant, clinical director and chief clinical officer. Her experience includes work at large chain organizations, independently owned facilities and regional organizations. Shannon’s practical, hands-on experience at various levels within long term care have uniquely prepared her to effectively lead and manage the operations of Medicalodges. After having originally served in the roles of director of nursing and administrator from 2000 through 2005, Shannon rejoined Medicalodges in 2012 as the Director of Clinical Services and served as Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer from 2014 to 2016.

Shannon is active in the American Health Care Association having served on the Clinical Practice Committee. She is also active in the Kansas Health Care Association having served on the Education Committee and is a frequent conference speaker.

Shannon received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with a minor in sociology from Wichita State University in 1995 and in addition to long term care, has worked as registered nurse in acute care, in state level public health and for a major pharmaceutical company.
