Melanie Stander is a seasoned healthcare professional currently serving as the General Manager of Clinical Services at Mediclinic since November 2022, and previously held the position of Emergency Medicine Manager at Mediclinic Southern Africa from February 2016. Stander has an extensive leadership background, having served as Chair of the Gender Specific Issues Special Interest Group from June 2014 to June 2019, and as a Vice-President of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) from June 2018 to 2019. In addition to various roles in the Emergency Medicine Society of South Africa, including President from November 2011 to 2016 and Vice Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee, Stander has contributed significantly to medical education as a course instructor with EGLS from 2017 to 2019. Stander's medical qualifications include an MB BCh from the University of the Witwatersrand, an MMed EM from the University of Cape Town, and Stander is currently pursuing an MSc in Healthcare Leadership at the University of Warwick.
