Nathan Opitz began their work experience at Scottsdale Healthcare in 2001 as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Nathan then went on to become a Radiology PACS Administrator in 2004 and later a Senior Systems Specialist in Information Technology, supporting PACS and RIS systems from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, Nathan joined Sanford Health and held the role of Manager PACS Imaging until 2019. Nathan then became the Director of Clinical Department Solutions from 2020 to 2021.

Currently, Nathan is the Vice President of the deepMed Business Unit for Medicom Technologies Inc., a position they have held since April 2021. Nathan oversees the development and implementation of deepMed, which involves collecting and de-identifying clinical information for research, machine learning, and AI applications.

Nathan Opitz has a diverse education history in the field of nuclear medicine and imaging informatics. Nathan began their education at St. Cloud State University from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Medicine. Following this, they attended the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in 2000 to 2001, where they received a certification in CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist). Additionally, Nathan obtained a certification in Epic Radiant from Epic.

In terms of additional certifications, Nathan became a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) in September 2007, awarded by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII). Nathan also holds an ITIL Foundation certification, although details about the institution and specific completion date are not provided.
