Mark Sompel

Mark Sompel is a Senior Firmware Engineer at MediSens Wireless, Inc. since January 2021, focusing on BLE sensors and WIFI for nursing home patient management. Previously, Mark worked as a Firmware Consultant at Holraum, converting a Linux video compression driver to a Zephyr RTOS driver. Mark served as Principal Firmware Engineer at Zume Inc., leading a software project for food assembly and delivery, and also held similar roles at ShotSpotter, Inc. and Violin Memory, where significant improvements and innovative solutions were implemented. Additional experience includes firmware architecture design for enterprise storage at Link A Media Devices Corp and NAND flash development at Samsung. Mark holds an ASEE degree from Penn Technical Institute and has experience managing projects and mentoring colleagues across various firmware-related roles since 2005.
