Rene Contreras

Rene Contreras, BSN, RN, has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Rene began their career as a Study Conduct Manager at Worldwide Clinical Trials from 2005 to 2009. Rene then worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator and later as a Clinical Applications Specialist at Endeavor Clinical Trials from 2010 to 2013. Rene then joined CHRISTUS Health in 2013, where they held the positions of ICU Registered Nurse and Clinical Informaticist until 2020. In 2019, they joined University Health System as an Intensive Care Nurse in the Float Pool. Currently, they work as a Program Manager and Clinical Lead at MEDITECH since October 2020.

Rene Contreras, BSN, RN completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at The University of Texas at Arlington from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate Degree of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing from San Antonio College from 2011 to 2012. They also hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology and Biology, respectively, from The University of Texas at San Antonio, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. In terms of certifications, Rene obtained an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from CPR123 Inc. in May 2019, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from Cpr San Antonio in May 2019, and became a Registered Nurse licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing in May 2013.
