Kim Buckner

Chief Nursing Officer at MediTelecare

Kim completed her undergraduate studies in Nursing at Midwestern State University, began FNP studies through Simmons University, and finished her final master's with PMHNP at Walden University. Her past work experiences have been in psychiatric hospitals, federal health systems, and group practice.

Her career in nursing provided a wide variety of skills, including long-term care, home care, hospice, infusion nursing, med-surge, and ICU. She started her psych career in nursing and administration while in uniform for the United States Government, completing her time in uniform with the Department of Homeland Security as the Field Medical Coordinator for the Western and Southern Region of the United States. She has served as the Chief Nursing Officer for major psychiatric health systems since separation from uniform in 2016. In her roles as Chief Nursing Officer, she has helped her hospital systems obtain and maintain accreditation. During the COVID pandemic, she also was instrumental in ensuring patients had continued access to quality health care by implementing a telepsych program within her hospital system and managing a patient caseload. She is dedicated to her vision of all patients having access to quality mental health care that meets their needs.
