Sigrid Poulsen has extensive work experience in the field of healthcare and medical advisement. Sigrid began their career in 1985 with internships at Rigshospitalet and Roskilde og Holbæk sygehuse. Sigrid then served as a physician at Rigshospitalet from 1988 to 1990.
From 1990 to 1993, they worked as an Associate Professional Officer at the World Health Organization, providing technical and managerial assistance to the Control of Diarrhoeal Diseases Programme and the Immunisation Programme.
Sigrid continued to work in various medical officer roles, including at Statens Serum Institut from 1994 to 1999, where they focused on surveillance of communicable diseases. Sigrid then returned to the National Board of Health, where they served as a Senior Medical Officer from 1999 to 2010. During this time, they were responsible for the childhood immunization programme and was involved in the introduction of new vaccines.
In 2010, they had a secondment at the World Health Organization and was involved in the work of the department of Vaccines and Immunizations.
From 2012 to 2014, they started their own consultancy, Sigrid Poulsen Consult, where they served as the Owner/Consultant.
Most recently, they have been working at Medivir AB since 2014 as a Medical Adviser.
Sigrid Poulsen obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Copenhagen from 1973 to 1984. Sigrid later pursued further education and completed their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the same university from 1996 to 1998, specializing in Medicine.
