Knef Lizaso

Knef Lizaso, MD, serves as an Executive and Founding Board Member of Southern California Emergency Medical Group since July 2020 and holds the position of Vice President and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Providence Health & Services since January 2017. With a long-standing involvement in various committees, Knef Lizaso actively participates in the Medical Executive Committee, Hospital Bylaws Committee, Physician Performance Improvement Committee, and the Infectious Disease and Transfusion Medicine Committee at the American Board of Emergency Medicine, where an examiner role has been held since 2014. Additional contributions include serving as the Regional Representative for the Sepsis Steering Committee at Providence St. Joseph Health and as Chairman of the Sepsis Committee at Providence Little Company Of Mary Medical Center San Pedro. Previous experience includes an Expert Medical Reviewer position for the Medical Board of California and a role as a Molecular Biologist at Mercator Genetics, Inc. Knef Lizaso earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors from Stanford University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco.
