Nigel Hoyland

Nigel Hoyland is a Principal Engineer in Software & Systems Engineering at Medtronic Surgical Innovations, a position held since October 2022, following a long tenure at Medtronic that began in February 2010 as a Software Configuration Manager and advanced to Principal Engineer. Prior to joining Medtronic, Nigel gained experience as CEO of Me Inc. and held various roles in configuration management and build management at companies such as Centrica, Nokia, and Friends Provident. Notable early career positions included Configuration Manager at Philips Semiconductors and CM Analyst at Railtrack. Nigel holds a Master's degree in Earth Observation Science and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Geology from the University of Leicester.
