Mark Scrimshire is the co-founder and CTO of Medyear. Besides being the CTO, Mark is also the current Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he is enabling digital records access for more than 58 million Medicare beneficiaries. His career began with an engineering apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce, which introduced him to the world of Information Technology and led him to work across the electronics, finance, energy, and telecom sectors before entering the world of healthcare. His health sector experience has included designing a platform for chronic diseases during the early days of the Internet, working with CareFirst on the implementation of the NPI, and establishing the first cloud-based ICD10 computer-assisted coding platform for 3M as part of the transition of its entire product line to a cloud-based architecture. Mark is also the founder of HealthCa.mp, a non-profit organization focused on breaking down silos and bringing people together to reinvent health care. This has positioned him as a leading advocate for patient engagement and informed his work as the CTO of Medyear. Mark holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Batchelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Studies from the University of Coventry in the United Kingdom.
