Lieven Vermaele

Lieven Vermaele serves as the Director of Partnerships and Operations at VRT, overseeing all commercial activities and partnerships that contribute approximately 200 million Euros to VRT's budget. Vermaele holds several board member positions, including roles at Picky, meemoo, and VAR, representing VRT in various collaborations that enhance digital archiving and media services. As an Executive Board Member of PENSIOENFONDS CONTRACTUELEN VRT, Vermaele has also been appointed as Managing Director during a temporary absence of the MD. Prior to VRT, Vermaele was the CEO and co-founder of SDNsquare, leading its acquisition by Riedel Communications, and held significant positions at EBU and Alcatel-Lucent. Vermaele's educational background includes a Master of Science in Engineering from Ghent University and an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School.
