Ahti Urb has a long and varied work experience, starting in 2002 as an IT Specialist for Pedrobeat. Ahti then moved to Sonex Computers in 2005, where they composed and tested PC hardware, and also started an IT services department. In 2006, they became a Software Tester (Junior) for Skype. In 2007, they moved up to Program Manager for Skype, where they worked on internal services for the software delivery pipeline. In 2017, they became a Senior Program Manager for Microsoft, where they planned and prioritized investments into the Build/Engineering System for Shared Calling Libraries (C++) and Skype End Client Apps. In 2019, they became an Engineering Manager for Omniva, where they were responsible for completing the transition from the old monolith to a new modular IT System. Ahti also acted as Chief Technology Officer (acting) for the company. In 2020, they co-founded a motorcycle rental business called Bikerent.ee, where they were responsible for designing the brand, setting up and maintaining the website, managing finances, and handing out and receiving the bikes. Finally, in 2022, they became an Engineering Manager for MeetingPackage.

Ahti Urb obtained a Diploma equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Informatics from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology between 1999 and 2003. Additionally, they hold a Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
