Camerun Washington, MS, CGC is a dedicated professional in the field of genetic counseling and education with diverse experience across several prestigious organizations. Currently serving as the Lead Instructor at Meharry Medical College, under the Together for CHANGE Initiative, Camerun has previously held positions such as Postgraduate Fellow at the American Society of Human Genetics and Fellowship Training in Genetics Education & Engagement at the National Human Genome Research Institute, where mentorship was provided by Beth Tuck, MA. With a robust clinical background from the Greenwood Genetic Center, specializing in general genetics and adult neurogenetics, Camerun has also led community science outreach initiatives, served as a grants reviewer for the National Society of Genetic Counselors, and gained extensive research experience during time at Winthrop University. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and dual bachelor degrees in Biology and Modern Languages from Winthrop University.
