Tyrone M. Jimmison

Tyrone M. Jimmison currently serves as the Senior Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Meharry Medical College since August 2025. Previously, Tyrone held the position of Chief Development Officer for Schools and Units at the University of Houston from October 2023 to February 2025. At the University of Rochester, Tyrone was the Executive Director of Advancement for the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences from July 2019 to October 2023. From March 2015 to June 2019, Tyrone directed philanthropy efforts for cancer at UW Medicine, playing a key role in the $5 billion Be Boundless Campaign. Earlier experience includes roles as Associate Director of Development at The University of Texas at Austin during a $3 billion Campaign for Texas, and Director of Class Gifts at Texas Christian University, where Tyrone focused on increasing donor participation. Tyrone began a career in admissions as an Admission Counselor at John Carroll University after earning an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Texas Christian University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Mount Union.
