António Reis has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. António'smost recent position was as the CTO at Meight (formerly Fuelsave.io) starting in February 2018. In this role, they focused on improving mobility by analyzing data from millions of journeys to anticipate driver behavior and reduce costs.
Before that, António worked as a Simulation Engineer at KTM Sportmotorcycle AG from April 2015 to December 2018. António led the development of software for different applications related to vehicle dynamics, engine lambda correction, and gearbox management. António also conducted signal processing for fitting and data analysis.
António also gained experience as a Simulation Engineer at Thy Engineering from March 2014 to February 2015, where they designed turbomachinery blades and performed calculations in 0D, 1D, and 3D. Additionally, they worked on mesh parameterization/generation with scripts.
Prior to that, António worked as a Graduate Researcher at Universidade da Beira Interior from June 2013 to November 2013. António contributed to the development of morphing strategies for drone wings, which resulted in a morphing leading edge mechanism for unmanned air vehicles. António conducted studies on design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and finite element analysis (FEA) for this project.
António's work experience also includes a CFD Internship at Thy Engineering from May 2012 to September 2012. During this internship, they explored the use of open-source tools, particularly the CFD engine OpenFOAM, for simulations in the turbomachinery domain. António also experimented with different open-source meshers such as Gmsh, Netgen, and enGrid.
António Reis began their education in 2010 at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where they pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. António completed both their graduation and post-graduation studies at this institution, which lasted until 2011. In the same year, Reis also joined the NOVA School of Science and Technology, where they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering. This program lasted from 2010 to 2013.
