Alexander Van Akkooi

Alexander van Akkooi is currently the Chair of Melanoma Surgery at Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) and University of Sydney (USYD). Alexander has also held positions in various other organizations such as the EORTC, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Erasmus MC, NKI-AVL, and Maasstad Ziekenhuis. With a background in Surgical Oncology and a Ph.D. in the field, Alexander has a wealth of experience as a researcher, clinician, and educator. Their career has included roles as a resident, PhD student, surgical oncologist, and board-certified surgical oncologist.
