Christian Karcher MD FCICM MClinEd serves as Subject Coordinator for Effective Clinical Teaching and Clinical Subdean in Simulation at the University of Melbourne since 2011. In addition, Christian is the Director of Critical Care Services and an Intensive Care Specialist at John Fawkner Private Hospital, along with a similar role at The Royal Melbourne Hospital & NorthWestern Mental Health, where specialised intensive care medicine is provided to critically ill patients. Christian holds the position of Medical Lead (ICU) for CALS ANZ and is Course Director for EMICC. With extensive experience in medical education and critical care, Christian has also contributed to Donate Life Victoria as a Medical Donation Specialist and co-convened the APICS in 2022 and 2023. Educational credentials include a Master of Clinical Education from the University of Melbourne and a Doctor of Medicine from Ulm University.
