Elyssia Bourke serves as the Director of Emergency Medical Research and Emergency Physician at The Royal Melbourne Hospital since April 2023. Previously, Elyssia held the position of Emergency Medicine Consultant and Co-Director of Emergency Medicine Research at Ballarat Health Services since February 2020. In addition to these roles, Elyssia has contributed as a Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine at the University of Melbourne and has extensive experience within various registrar positions at Austin Health, The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and The Royal Children's Hospital. Elyssia's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Paediatric Emergency Medicine from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from James Cook University, and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) along with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) from Monash University.
