Liam Nguyen is currently the VP (Student Engagement) at Melbourne Microfinance Initiative and a Student IT Consultant at the University of Melbourne. In the past, Liam held roles such as Secretary in People & Culture and Communications. Liam has also worked as a Tutor at Spectrum Tuition and participated as an International Delegate in the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition. Liam is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, expected to graduate in 2025.

Melbourne Microfinance Initiative (MMI)
Melbourne Microfinance Initiative (MMI) is the first and largest student-run microfinance organisation in Australia. Founded in 2010, we are based at the University of Melbourne and are proudly affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Economics. Our mission is three-fold. We aim to: • Inspire students to take real action during their careers towards alleviating global poverty • Support microfinance NGOs in developing countries with pro-bono consulting services • Provide students with an opportunity to apply their analytical skills to real organisational and social challenges.
