Byju Philip has a strong background in information technology and has held various roles in the hospitality industry. Byju is currently the Head of Information Technology at ME Dubai by Meliá, a position they have held since September 2019. Prior to that, Byju worked as the Head of the Information Technology Department (Pre-Opening) at Meliá Hotels International, where they were responsible for implementing advanced IT technology systems. From 2008 to 2018, Byju worked at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), first as an IT Manager - Pre-Opening and then as an IT Manager. Byju played a key role in setting up IT systems at Holiday Inn Muscat Al Seeb Oman, making it the first 100% IHG IT Tech Ready hotel in Oman. Before IHG, Byju worked as an Assistant IT Manager at Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts and as a Network Engineer at Technical Zone. Byju began their career as a Customer Support Engineer/Network Engineer at Wintech Systems Ltd, where they managed a team and handled network administration and configuration.

Byju Philip completed their education as follows:

- From 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Airline and Airport Management and Hotel and Hospitality Management from the National Institute of Business Management.

- In 1997 to 2000, Byju obtained a Diploma from I.H.R.D. Government of Kerala Technical Education in Computer Hardware Maintenance / Electronics.

- In 2002, they received a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from Accel IT Academy Ltd.

- Byju earned their High School Diploma in Science / Mathematics from the University of Kerala between 1993 and 1995.

- Furthermore, they pursued another Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Hotel and Hospitality Management, specifically elective Airport Management, from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) Global, spanning from 2017 to 2019.

Additionally, Byju has acquired various certifications throughout their career, including Financial Basics for Non-Financial Manager from WBT Systems, Health & Safety from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, CCNA from the Cisco Networking Academy, MCP from Microsoft, Managing Performance & Development from IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Project Management from Harvard Business School Online.
